What is a personal brand? Your personal brand refers to how you present yourself, your skills, your experience, and your career goals to other professionals. It’s what distinguishes you from the rest of the pack on the job market. Think about some well-known brands: Apple, Uber, Target, and Pepsi.

Your personal brand defines who you are and what you stand for and describes your skills and experiences. Personal branding is a way of showcasing your strengths and personality as well as telling your story. Most people use social media, blog platforms, and websites to market their personal brand.

Let’s start by breaking personal branding down into four main categories: Identity, Social, Online, and Career.

According to research, there are 6 main personas that best identify personal brand types – altruists, careerists, hipsters, boomerangs, connectors & selectives. Every branding type represents a motivation through which individuals share information and establish how they’re seen within their industry.

It is well known that a strong presence across Social Media platforms is vital in building one’s Personal Brand.

In my view there are three key elements that are integral to each person’s brand.

A strong personal brand can help you be relevant and relatable. These are important factors in developing that “know, like and trust” factor. People do business with people. Being relevant means that people see how you could fit into their life and business to achieve their goals.

To build a strong personal brand, you need to (1) know yourself, (2) know your audiences, (3) focus on reality instead of perception, (4) create and communicate your story, and then (5) consistently evaluate and continually improve.

That’s all fine, but once a woman starts thinking of self-branding, the question appears:
